The euro-area Cost of Living series is built from official European statistics published by Eurostat, harmonised across member states and updated as each release lands.

Produces The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP and core HICP), domestic producer prices, the Labour Cost Index, and the euro-area import price index · Monthly for consumer, producer and import prices; quarterly for the Labour Cost Index
Eurostat harmonises the figures produced by national statistical institutes across the euro area onto a common basis, so the series are comparable across countries and aggregate cleanly to the euro-area level.
Euro-area HICP is published to December 2025 in this environment, a ceiling that sits at both Eurostat and the ECB; the producer- and import-price episodes run more current. The repair composite in Episode 5 is an Encyclix proxy (producer prices blended with HICP energy and services), as Eurostat has no single euro-area construction or repair index.
